Library (C.S)

Last week I went to the library. We cut out sharks teeth for the crafts for little kids. I thought it was fairly easy although I'm really bad at cutting a straight line. We are going to start volunteering on fridays and I cannot wait to get back into it. I wasn't really able to volunteer at the library much this past couple months because of occer season. But now that its over I have more free time. This is something unknown to me since I usualy do track. however I may still do track but I'm unsure. Initiative, commitment because I took the initiative to go, and commitment because I am keeping to a schedule. I am going to do this from now on.

2011 (C.S.)

Today me Nicole Milan and Stephanie all went to the library again. We haven’t been in a long time because we just don’t have time with soccer. However today we were able to and Im very glad  that we could. We got to make crafts! I haven’t made crafts out of pipe cleaners like that in a long time. I enjoyed it a lot, to my surprise. It reminded me of when I was a little kid. I never really thought about the sample crafts that were made. Some of the crafts wer a bit challenging but in the end I found it to be a fun and reminiscent time. Initiative because we all took the time to go. 

December 10th 2011(A)

 I decided to ride my bike again for the first time since summer. In the summer I would try and ride my bike everywhere to save gas. I even made it all the way to the pier once! However I haven’t biked in a long time since. So I went for a spin. I only went around the neighborhood though. This is because I was running short on time. I really like to ride my bike because you get a new perspective of st aug and it really makes you appreciate the town more. My goal is to bike downtown sometime soon.Challenge because I am going to work my way up to my goal.

December 3rd 2011

(AS) today me and some classmates (Stephanie N, Sara F, and Emma C) met really early by Moses creek on st rd 206. We decided to clean up trash along the road because the road was very dirty. We filled up five bags! Entirely! We found some weird things too; I found a bumper and a Nissan symbol. I also found whole unopened packages or screws, and some homework. It was really strange. I also found pieces of tires. All in all it was very successful. The road was a lot cleaner by the time we were done. I was proud of what we had done because it was a very noticeable change. Initiative, Challenge, Commitment because we all took time out to help our community and clean up the environment.

November 26th 2011

I got up really early this morning around 6 to run. I really want to win the school record this year. I have a little bit of competition on the team too. All this motivation really pushes me to try my hardest when I run. I didn’t time myself this morning. I ran about an 8 minute mile. That isn’t too bad considering I haven’t run in a while, I’ve been too busy with soccer, and that it wasn’t a hard run. I’m going to start running more, possibly even join track to try and win a record and work hard for next cross country season. Initiative, challenge, this is because i took the initiative to make myself better and run, and I am setting a challenge for myself to win the record.

(CS) November 18th 2011

Today we did a “minute to win it” type del. We put out an announcement that the IB clas would be doing this as a sort of fundraiser to help pay for Rosemary to get here. We went to classes asking for money, whoever put the most in won a prize, baked goods from our class. We did this for the top 3 places. We ended up making our goal! I’m really happy for our class because I know that we worked really hard for this. We even had a little money to spare.  It was really fun and exciting. Now e are planning something for rosemary when we get back, though I’m not sure what yet. Global Value, Challenge, Awareness, Collaboration, Initiative. it is global challenge because we are working to bring some one international to the USA. it is Challenge because we had a certain goal that we were trying to reach. Awareness because we made the school aware of Rosemary's coming. Collaboration because our whole class came together to help as well as the school. Initiative because our class took the initiative to do this challenge. 

December 29th (A)

Me and my Friend went ice skating on December 29th. Aka my birthday! It was really fun! Stephanie used to be a figure skater so she skated circles around me. However she taught me how to skate backwards! It was really fun because I had never skated backwards before. I also haven't skated in awhile. I only fell twice so I was really happy that i didn't fall more. Plus it was great exercise! My legs were sore! I cant wait to go again though. Hopefully we will get to go again soon! Challenge because i tried to learn how to ice skate backwards and because I tried not to fall when ice skating.

Last Saturday (A)

Last Saturday me and my friend Sara went on a bike ride. I have been really trying to ride my bike more because I have the goal of biking all the way downtown. It was for five miles. That may seem like a long way but once you actually start riding it doesn't seem like it. I know if I was running it would seem really far! This just shows me how quick riding your bike really is. Plus it gave us a good chance to enjoy the day. Challenge because I am working towards a gal, initiative because we took the initiative to try and train to reach this goal.
